Chapter 14 showed how wrong RWA forecasts have been. In 2022, one study announced more than 3 trillion dollars of tokenised assets for 2025, when the distributed market held about 21 billion at the start of 2026. Writing about the future after such a finding requires humility, and a method. I therefore distinguish three registers, flagged at each step. What is established, because it is already written into official texts or timetables. What is probable, because solid trends point to it. And what belongs to conjecture, which I present as such, with its assumptions.
What is established, the timetable
A series of deadlines is already set by laws, regulations or the authorities’ public commitments. Some may slip, but their principle is settled.
